 NWEA Spring Testing

More tests!?!!?! Yes, Spring is testing season. We will be taking our Spring Reading NWEA test on Monday, May 13th, and we will take our Spring Math NWEA test on Wednesday, May 15th. Please have your child go to bed early the night before each test. Also, eating a healthy breakfast boosts your child’s brain power so please encourage your child to eat breakfast.

The students can earn an extra recess with Mr. Zielinski if they reach their personal growth goal OR reach the grade level goal on the Reading NWEA test. So please encourage your child to take their time and do their best so we can all go outside with Mr. Zielinski for an EXTRA recess!

Another exciting reward, for the Reading NWEA test, is being offered to the top ten students with the highest reading NWEA scores. This reward will be a Pizza Picnic at a Park with Paws the Tiger and Mr. Zielinski.

M-STEP Update

Wow! What a busy past 2 weeks! Our students worked so hard and everyone did their best! No matter what their score is, each child worked hard and took their time. I couldn’t be more proud of their perseverance and determination! Scores are not in yet. Last year’s third graders received their results this past Fall.

We are officially done with third grade M-STEP testing!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!

Greenfield Village Update

We will be going to Greenfield Village on Tuesday, June 4th. All of our tickets have been ordered.

All students and chaperones will need to bring a disposable bag lunch since we will be eating lunch at the Village. If you have volunteered to chaperone, please meet us at Greenfield Village via your own vehicle. The exact time will be sent out at a later date.

Thank You!

Vocabulary Segment on Announcements

Every morning, we watch the Arno News or Announcements. As a fun way for our Arno Cougars to learn vocabulary words, there is a vocabulary segment. The vocabulary segments feature staff, students, families, and community members. If you would like to make a vocabulary video, please email me and I will send you a word.

Motivational Monday

On Mondays, there is a motivational segment on the announcements. Our class is in charge of recording the motivational segment. After our announcements, we watch a pre-selected motivational video from Mr. Zielinski. The motivational news segment and Mr. Zielinski’s videos are very inspiring!
