All book swap dates are below and will take place at Arno’s main office doors. The book swap time is from 12-1pm. Please have your child return their reading log to their 4th grade teacher in the Fall. Happy Reading!

We did it! The entire school was in on it and kept a secret from our three retirees! Dr. Chuby, Mrs. Bennett, and Mrs. Dalton were surprised and showered with love at an assembly all about them! The students made posters, flowers, books, and even sang a beautiful song to these 3 WONDERFUL staff members who will be greatly missed! Happy Retirement Dr. Chuby, Mrs. Bennett, and Mrs. Dalton!

We had a great time at our field trip to Greenfield Village. Thank you to all of our amazing chaperones for all of your help!
On Friday afternoon, we walked to the AP library. While at the library, the librarians reviewed how to get a library card, library manners, read us a story, gave us a tour of the library, and the students made a craft. The librarians also reminded us that the sign up for the Allen Park Library Summer Reading Program is this Saturday, June 15th, from 10:30am-12pm.
Every morning, we watch the Arno News or Announcements. As a fun way for our Arno Cougars to learn vocabulary words, there is a vocabulary segment. The vocabulary segments feature staff, students, families, and community members. If you would like to make a vocabulary video, please email me and I will send you a word. This could be a great summer activity for your family!
On Mondays, there is a motivational segment on the announcements. Our class is in charge of recording the motivational segment. After our announcements, we watch a pre-selected motivational video from Mr. Zielinski. The motivational news segment and Mr. Zielinski’s videos are very inspiring!

The fourth graders in Mrs. Kalis’s class and third graders in Mrs. Warneck’s class will be walking to Boccabella Park for a fun end of the year field trip. We will be going to the park on Tuesday, June 11th. We will leave Arno about 8:40am and return to Arno about 11:20am. Super Cougars participating in the ice cream reward will walk over with Mrs. Kalis after their treat.
Parents are welcome to join us at the park. Students and parents are also invited to bring snacks, water, and juice boxes.While we are at the park, students can play at the park, use the equipment, and even enjoy some games of kickball. Parents and students are also allowed to bring up other outside equipment.

Congratulations to Bryce for being our classroom Super Cougar for May. Bryce is Responsible, Respectful, and Safe. He goes above and beyond our PBIS expectations. Way to go, Bryce! Bryce will participate in a pizza lunch with Mr. Zielinski and the other May Super Cougars.
