This test will take approximately 1 hour but students will have more time if needed. This test does not have a time limit.

Please try the sample Math Performance Task with your child. If time, please also try the grade 4 Math Performance Task. Please click on the M-STEP practice link below to try the practices. Thank You!

Stevie B’s Fundraiser-From the PTA

Just a quick reminder from the PTA that our Stevie B’s Fundraiser is next Tuesday, May 23rd from 11 am- 9 pm. Teachers EAT FREE and the class with the highest amount of participants gets a FREE PIZZA PARTY! Just let the cashier know when you order you’re from Arno and what teacher you have. If you have more than one child at Arno, you may split the number of people in your party. So, if you have a family of 5 and 2 students that attend Arno, you can give 2 credits to one and 3 credits to another or divide it up as you please. They also have a small arcade there and token purchases also account for credits as well!

Have Fun! Eat some delicious pizza and earn a free pizza party while raising funds for our kids at Arno!

Have a Great Weekend!

Social Studies-Junior Achievement

Mr. Paul, our Junior Achievement volunteer, came in 2 times this past week. The learning goal of the second session was for students to examine the importance of money to a city and how people use different methods to pay for goods and services.  The learning goal of the third session was for students to see the contributions of financial institutions to a city and how those institutions help businesses and people achieve their economic goals.

Mr. Paul’s next visit will be Tuesday afternoon.

Motivational Visit

On Friday, Dr. Pittman, our director of curriculum, visited our classroom to inspire and motivate students to do their best on the M STEP.

Book Clubs

Students are reading books on their own levels during Book Clubs. Students read the book in a small group, retell the story, listen to each other read, write a retelling of the story, and then take an Accelerated Reader test.

Social Studies-Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement is a social studies program. J.A. is  a 5 session program that is taught to us be a volunteer. Mr. Paul, our J.A. volunteer, taught us 1 session on Friday. The learning goal of Friday’s lesson was “Students identify the different zones used in city planning and apply the information to organize businesses.”

JA Our City introduces students to the characteristics of cities and how cities are shaped by zoning. Students also learn about the importance of money to a city; how financial institutions help businesses and city residents; and how the media is an integral part of a city’s life. Students learn the role of an entrepreneur by exploring what it takes to open a restaurant.
