Arno Fun Fair

Arno’s annual Family Fun Fair is tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 24th from 11 am-2pm!  Tickets are still available at the door.  There will be games, raffles, prizes, food, a cake walk and more!  This is a great family event so be sure to stop by!

Social Studies

The students in room 122 have completed Chapter 5 in their Meet Michigan Textbook. Chapter 5 is “Michigan Grows Up”. The big ideas in this chapter were: good dirt helped Michigan grow as a state, trees help Michigan grow as a state, underground resources help Michigan grow as a state, moving people and products, putting resources to work-how our town grew, the car business zooms along, and a terrible business slow down.

Congratulations to Peyton W., Ava, Abagail, Gabrio, Grace, Beth, Julia, Davian, Molly, and Jenna for earning 100% on their chapter 5 Social Studies test!

Our next chapter is chapter 6: Michigan Today and Tomorrow.

Upcoming Field Trip

Our class is going to the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s EIC on Thursday, March 1st. We will be leaving Arno at 8:40am. While at the EIC (Environmental Interpretive Center), our class will spend the majority of the time hiking outside through the woods. Please make sure your child dresses according to the weather. The woods will most likely be very muddy. Please have your child wear boots and “play” clothes, in case they fall and get dirty. We do not want to ruin anyone’s favorite outfit! The class will return around 11:20am. Students will eat lunch at school at our regular time, 12:30pm. All students must take the bus to and from the EIC. Thank you for your understanding!

A permission slip was sent home on Monday, February 5th. The fee for the field trip is $4 per student.

If a child doesn’t return a permission slip, he/she will be unable to attend the field trip.

Parent Surveys

It’s that time of year already in our school improvement planning where we need to send out surveys to our Arno stakeholders.  You will have the opportunity to take a brief survey from the State of Michigan rating some of your experiences here at Arno.  The survey will be available  Jan 29 to Feb. 9.  We will be providing the link to it via email blast on that day, as well as posting it in the blog below.  If you are unable to access via computer, we will also have a computer set up in the office if you wish to take it there.  Giving us good feedback helps us plan better to meet the needs of every Cougar stakeholder.  In addition, students and staff also take a similar survey during the school day.

All of the feedback you provide is then summarized and becomes part of our school improvement plan for the 2018-19 school year.  Thank you very much, please click on the link to start the survey:
