Earth Day Stations

On Monday, April 23rd, Arno celebrated Earth Day by visiting stations around the school.


How Can We Predict When its Going to Storm?

In this Science mystery, students learned how to make predictions about the weather by observing clouds and their changes. In the activity, students created a small book to record their notes and used it to practice storm prediction.

Safety Assembly

A BIG thank you to Officer Albright for visiting Arno and having a safety talk with our students. Officer Albright talked about how to deal with a bully, stranger danger, and school safety drills.


Junior Achievement

JA Our City introduces students to financial literacy and learning objectives for third–grade social studies, including the characteristics of cities, the importance of economic exchange, and how people and businesses in cities manage their money. Students will apply money-management strategies to personal and business accounts.

Following participation in the program, students will be able to:
  • Provide practical information about the zones found within a city.
  • Examine the importance of money to a city, why people pay taxes, and how people use different methods to pay for goods and services.
  • Describe the contributions of financial institutions to a city and how they help businesses and people achieve their economic goals.
  • Develop an understanding that entrepreneurs promote a healthy economy within a city.


Daddy-Daughter Dance

On Friday, April 27th, many girls from our class attended the Daddy-Daughter Dance.

March Super Cougar

Mr. Peace Assembly

On Monday, April 9th, Mr. Peace visited Arno Elementary with a very important message of choosing to be positive instead of being negative. He also motivated the students and staff to be self confident and to always do your best! His message was very motivational! Thank you to our PTA for funding this great assembly!


Science

On Friday’s mystery, students examined clues about how clouds look and feel to discover what they’re made of and how they form. In this activity, students observed what happened when water changes from liquid to gas.

Book and Cook

On Wednesday, March 28th, we read Diary of a Worm and then we made dirt and worms. We really enjoyed our weekly book and cooks during the month of March for March is Reading Month!


March is Reading Month-Reading Board Games

On Thursdays, during the month of March, we have played reading board games in the cafeteria. We also had 5th-12th graders stop by and play with us.
