Greenfield Village Field Trip
The third grade classes will be going to Greenfield Village on Tuesday, June 4th. The permission slip went home on Monday, April 9th. Please return the permission slip and field trip fee by Monday, April 29th. Thank You!
M-STEP Dates and Sample Questions
- Third Grade will be taking the English Language Arts M–STEP on Wednesday, May 1st, and Thursday, May 2nd.
- Third Grade will be taking the Math M–STEP on Wednesday, May 8th, and Thursday, May 9th.
English Language Arts
Every week your child will read an anchor text as well as a paired text. The anchor text is used to work on fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary skills and strategies. The paired text may be similar in theme and/or genre. This text will reinforce vocabulary usage.

Science
In Thursday’s Mystery students learned how the food we eat is a result of selection. In the activity students tasted different apples and identified the traits human beings have selected for.

Vocabulary Segment on Announcements
Every morning, we watch the Arno News or Announcements. As a fun way for our Arno Cougars to learn vocabulary words, there is a vocabulary segment. The vocabulary segments feature staff, students, families, and community members. If you would like to make a vocabulary video, please email me and I will send you a word.
Motivational Monday
On Mondays, there is a motivational segment on the announcements. Our class is in charge of recording the motivational segment. After our announcements, we watch a pre-selected motivational video from Mr. Zielinski. The motivational news segment and Mr. Zielinski’s videos are very inspiring!
